16 March 2006

Sometimes someone writes something so weird, that it brightens my day a little bit.
[More:]

Then it gets deleted.
I'm so glad I got to pile on that one before it closed.

Thus, to watch Constantine, a MIND must dissolve itself and become NOTHING. With a bag of chips.

That's just gotta be ethylene.

Hahaha! Shane! It can't be eth: too many caps.

It's a little too linear to be ethylene's style, unfortunately.

I was just thinking about her this morning. Wondering where she is. I hope she's just taking a nice healthy vacation from the internet and/or taking care of herself in general, instead of the worst case scenario I can't help but imagine.

i hope she's ok too.

I'm sure that the worst case isn't the case. Really.

Miko’s comment in that “What in the NOW” thread was so funny, and I loved the “best answer” (?!) picks. I also got a big laugh today from the discussion of eggcorns that’s going on over in MeTa.

eggcorns? i saw a roadside sign today for a deal on a gourmet muffin and a cappucio. that's right. a cah-POO-chee-oh. how disgusting. oh, what a difference a consonent makes.

not quite an eggcorn, but disgusting sounding nun-the-less.

Hey, it's better than a hot Capuchin... though I could maybe go with a room temp. Benedictine.

The worst thing about that eggcorn thread was that once I read it I started noticing them elsewhere on the site (there a couple of eggcorns active over there right now, and one of them is one of the funniest I've seen in a long time). I was so tempted to link to it but resisted the urge to bring any other unfortunate souls into the fray!

Cappucio, yuck!

sophie, you're just going to leave me hanging like this? I haven't seen something as awesome as the eggcorn phenomenon in awhile. I've been laughing my ass off reading them.

Hahaha! I can't stop laughing about the bear hands post linked from the meta thread, though I really shouldn't be; I find myself making more and more ad homonym errors. Or maybe that's just a pigment of my imagination.

Ha!! Once during a very serious and intense talk with my boss and some co-workers, I announced that the data was skewered beyond recognition.

Nice!

I know Taz, I'm the worst with those kinds of mistakes, that's probably why they crack me up. And Frisbee Girl, I'm so sorry! (I'm so tempted, too!) I think I'm going to wait until it has sunk out of sight and then maybe I'll start a thread here where I figure out a way of mentioning it without pointing directly to it.

(on preview: skewered!)
