WTF [More:]I'm having second thoughts about google.

I wrote a message on how to get (a freely distributable copy, originally disseminated by PCGamer) of X-Com to a bunch of people.

At first it was (paraphrase) "exe bad," then I'm getting "This document contains no data."

Sure, *.exe's aren't a good thing in email messages but... shit, there's a lot of legitimate exe's that could be attached to emails. Protecting the stupidest isn't a goood reason so prevent a file with an *.exe extension from being sent =(

Ok, lawsuits are a "good" reason, but I'm totally off the gmail bandwagon.
I have an ingrown toenail! And pus in my toe!

You need a doctor and some antibiotics, weretable. Really.

No, I need some tannic acid mixed with some garlic and water applied to my toe. Must find tannic acid for sale!

Curious: can you send .exe files via any of the other free email services? I'm a gmailer - what about yahoo, hotmail, et al?

Clearly allowing .exe attachments would disrupt google's plans for orbital mind control.

I guess I would try sending it as a .zip. Now if that didn't work, I'd be pissed - otherwise, it's just an extra couple of seconds.

exe's in zips are detected. exe's in rars usually aren't (but winrar was crapping on me last night)

weretable: what mudpuppie said. I had to have a toenail cut off due to a ingrown toenail gone wild. While it was interesting to watch, I wouldn't want to go through it again.

I used to get these constantly as a teen. Eventually they had to kill the nerves in both my big toenails. I'd forgotten how much they hurt...yeah, see a doctor weretable.

Do I have a new band name?!

Rename the file before sending it. If you put a .txt extension on it, gmail will never know it's really a .exe.

Also works for blocked YSIs.
