14 February 2006

So what's everyone's plans for tonight? Any special, exciting, romantic plans? Plotting any surprises? I bet you'll all be jealous when you find out my plans for the evening. [More:]I will be selling pulltabs at my Jaycee chapter's weekly bingo night. (We run bingo every Tuesday) Woohoo! Can't get much more romantic than that! : )
I went shopping and out to lunch with my mom today and it was totally lovely and sweet and then I came back to find all these valentines awaiting me and I am just suffused with warm glowy feelings that will probably help a lot later on when I'm out at a smoky dive bar being the third wheel to my best friend and her on again off again boyfriend.

I either watch my wife drowse off to pain pills, or listen to her complain about the pain of her broken foot.

Good times. Good times.

Well, I'm about to go to the market and pick up some goodies. I will then bring them home and start gettin' my mise together for when I make dinner tonight (Supreme of chicken, Kiev-style; haricots verts; whatever sort of risotto strikes my fancy while shopping; and a nice white Bordeaux to go with it all). Flowers & card, shower & shave, and we're good to go.

What?

The night is nearly over for me. I ate Moussaka, chips and spinach, watched Catwoman on DVD. Then. watched John Stewart on tivo, and am now catching up on the metachat.

I'll be doing homework. Yay. Word is I have some trim coming into town this weekend, though.

It's also American Idol Group Sing (Hollywood) night, and there are always some good trainwrecks. I'm recording it on my DVR for later. ; )

Our high point came in the middle of the day, when I gave my one true love the daily injection in his sweet hiney ass cheek. Poor disabled baby!

High POINT, get it? har har!

*coughs, coughs, coughs, recovers* Aaaah.

I'll most likely be hanging out in IRC. That's HOT. Scrubs isn't even on tonight! It's like I'm being punished!

Also, Eid - "trim" sounds so incredibly tidy, and unsticky, which is kind of nice, actually... but weird.

Of course, I really didn't want to hear the other words expressing just that flavor of sentiment, so... let's stick with "nice" ("stick with" totally unstickily, though, of course! You know - sticking with, trimmly!)

After lunch, there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers on my desk! I think tonight me and the SO are gonna go to a little spanish restaurant for tapas and sangria.
posted by muddgirl 14 February | 17:28
the girlie and I went out last night, and avoided all the nonsense. Plus - no bullshit racked-up Valentine's menus.

So, tonight? Tonight I'm gonna wait in the bushes for my mecha-valentine and do it like bunnies. I sure hope it's a girl bunny!

Well, rather disappointlingly, no fancy din-din. I like to eats me some foodz but the nuevo man has a meeting. After that we're supposed to go to a friend's house for fine piano accompaniment, choc dipp'd strawberries and vino (damn it, he doesn't drink, but I do, yet can't in front of him. Arrrrrrrrrgh!). So, while mildly conflicted over the plans, I'll just be happy to spend a little time with him, and see where this lil romance may be going.

She's got a meeting, but if she gets home early enough, we might watch a couple of episodes of Buffy, like we did last night. Yeah, I know. Hawt.

Let's see. My plans:

1. Lying in darkened room, some crying. (Check - done!)
2. Pick up Mexican takeout at Poco Loco.
3. Call Mom and Dad for obligatory V-Day call. Tell them sad tale of breakup. Accept parental soothing.
4. Scribble ruminations in sketchbook while playing the "Astral Weeks" and "Crosby, Stills, & Nash (eponymous)" LPs again.
5. A little more wistful sniffling. Maybe a hot bath with lavender sea salts.
6. Maybe some IRC, maybe noodle around on the guitar some. I have DVDs of "Curb Your Enthusiasm"; that might be a fun distraction.
7. Early to bed, try to sleep, try to have a better day tomorrow.

Mom and sister are going out to dinner without me. So I'm sensing there will be chicken noodle soup, much crying, and a trip to the corner store for adequate amounts of ice cream.

My husband just brought me a heart-shaped box of chocolates that says Choo choo choose me on it. And there's a picture of a train!

I treated my AA sponsee to dinner tonight for her fifth sober birthday. Then we went to a meeting.

Not exactly romantic, but a great way to spend the evening.

We had some steak, sauteed mushrooms & garlic, broccoli & some red vinky. CUrrently in sweats and doing our usual cave-ish evening maneuvers. :D

That's WookiEE. Two Es.

(The fact that a chick who is both a Star Wars AND Simpsons geek can find love should serve as an inspiration to all.)
