AskMetachat: If you had a colocated server, and you were offered an unmetered 10mps connection for an extra $100 a month...what would you do with all that bandwidth? →[More:] Legal things, of course. A friend & I are trying to come up with ways to justify bumping up from our current metered connection.

I'm ashamed to say it, but I have no idea what I'd do with that much pipe. We shoveled 2M pageviews a week out of 1.4 Mbit 95%ile at my previous gig.

Do you have the hardware to push that many bits? Real world applications that output > 5 Mbit steady-state likely require non-trivial infrastructure.

I guess I'd find an advocacy organization that needed content-delivery assistance and offer to mirror their stuff.
