Ask MeCha: So we're getting a new mattress →[More:]and here are the facts:
It will be delivered.

They will be taking the old mattress, no box springs (but are delivering a new foundation).

I tend to overtip my food service folks, certainly my bartenders, and cab drivers. Everyone else though, I feel like I might be undertipping.

So, do I tip these dudes? Or not? How much? There are stairs involved.

That's what I would do - give the ten to one of them. It would be nice to hand it to one of them while the other one's standing there, so you know it won't get pocketed. I'd give 20 if it were more than one or two flights of stairs, though.

I just recently got a new mattress myself. There were three guys, two of whom did the actual lifting - I ended up giving 60 bucks to the guy in charge. Then again, I live up six flights of stairs (seven, if you include the stairs up to my bedroom) with no elevator.
