I regularly have dreams of the future, but they're on par with deja vu -- no premonitions of important events, just mundane bits of everyday life that I dream of months in advance.

My dad was in S. Carolina when I fell down the stairs after a "Christmas" party that I threw and severed 4 tendons in my left hand.

He commented to my aunt, the next day, that he had a dream that night of someone falling down stairs.

I have Extra Sensual Perception. Does that count?

Sure, that counts, Flo. *winks*

I get little flashes all the time. Some could be attributed to coicidence, but it happens too often and too frequently for me to completely discount the fact that we're all dialed into the cosmos. Everyone can be a little psychic if they just pay attention.

Extra Sexy Porno?

May I reccomend "Wreck My Ass You Burly Negro II: The Wreckoning"?

I give it six mics!

I was a little sidekick once. Or was that a little heroine? Sorry - my memory's almost as bad as my hearing since "the incident."

How about Extra Smooth Peanutbutter?

I actually had a vague ESP type experience once. When I was home sick as a kid, I watched an episode of The Dick van Dyke show where Rose Marie sang a song called "I Wish I Could Sing Like Durante." I don't recall ever seeing it afterwards.

Then one day at work in the bookstore, roughly 17 years later, I found myself sing that number to myself. Pips asked what the song was and I told her. Later that night, we flipped on TV Land (the cable rerun network) and guess what was playing? That very episode. Freaky.

Who is the comedian who does the riff, something like "A woman wakes up with a strong burning sensation in her right hand... Amazingly at the same time a thousand miles away her daughter is giving some dude a handjob"?
posted by Divine_Wino 05 January | 13:14
I once woke up with a burning sensation. Amazingly, at the same time, a thousand miles away, my daughter was a hooker.

I once woke up with a burning sensation. Amazingly, at the same time, zero miles away, I was being burned alive.

I knew you were going to say that.

And I knew you were going to say that.

And I knew you both were going to say "I knew you were going to say that".
posted by Specklet 05 January | 13:33
We're all psychic here, then.

Sorry McGraw, I don't have any paranormal phenomina to report that haven't been well explained by science, I keep wishing I would see or experience something that would convince me, but nothing yet. And I have a vivid internal fantasy life, so it's fuck all to do with a lack of imagionation or whatever.

Aw sheeeeeit. Your stories and ongoing hijinks made it all worthwhile, D_W and jon.

I'd be curious to know how you'd separate ESP from coincidence. I mean, the world is due one bona fide, honest-to-goodness miracle a month, by coincidence. Nothing mentioned here is a bona fide miracle, so heck, these things are going to come even faster.

My cousin and I had "ESP." We knew each other really well, and could thus finish each other's sentences.

I think right now, he is ... working. Damn! I'm good. ;-P

Apparently when I was about 5 the family was driving to visit my aunt outside Philly. Out of nowhere, I piped up and asked "Mom, does Aunt Penny have a shower that sprays on all four sides?" We hadn't ever been to her house, but when we arrived at her house (an old victorian) we found she did indeed have a shower that consisted of 4 vertical pipes that sprayed from the side. My mother recalls having been quite spooked by that.

Similar to me3dia - dreams of the (mundane) future now and again but not frequently.
