I've got pork roast,→[More:]mashed potatoes, gravy, sauteed green beans (with onion and red pepper), red cabbage, ginger carrots, and sparkling cider. You all would be welcome at the table.

Nice! I have hoppin' john in the oven and collards on the stove and any minute now I'm going to make cornbread. Y'all are all welcome here too!

And water. Lots of nice non alcoholic water. ;-)

I just concluded a swingin' party. On the table were: 7 layer bean dip, Biltmore Century White, Black Eyes Peas/Turnip Greens/Corn/Tomato/Chicken unnamed dish, Apple Cranberry Havest pie, bloody Korbel, Yuengling, and a bag of slightly stale Doritos. I thought of you all.

I made myself a New York Strip using a technique by Alton Brown that I hadn't tried before, with a Paso Robles reduction sauce and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, skins on. The missus made low-fat brownies. Out-frigging-standing, and easy as something really quite easy.

Wish I'd made cornbread, though. I love cornbread.
