18 December 2005

Wonderful things [More:]#2) The serendipitous moodswings of Mother Nature. A truly spectacular thunderstorm has descended on SF. You guys know the kind: windows are rattling, car alarms are going off, the flash of lightning is immediately followed by the sharp crack that explodes into thunder. And the rain is so thick I can't see the end of the block. It's beautiful and amazing and perfectly cathartic after what has been officially declared as Frisbee's Worst Birthday Ever (tee-em). [I personally find it important to reset the standard from time to time and records were definitively broken, so I can at least dust my hands off with great satisfaction about that.]

#1) The MeCha crowd. You guys are nothing short of fantastic. Collectively and individually, so many of you have been a truly wonderful part of 2005. Great new friendships, much appreciated sources of weirdo humor, silly humor, downright OMGWTF humor, sincere support, awesome music, great conversation. Wonderful, pure and simple.

Thanks so very much.
That's weather to play Wagner to. Don't waste it!

It's a mutual admiration society, Fris. And I'd echo your sentiments. Many mechatters are my drinking buddies and they are, to a man, man's men. And the MeChaFemmes are all SooperGenius MegaHotties. Life is good, even considering the year I've had.

I love the idea of a scary-looking guy like cmonkey (not really, but you know what I mean) giving props to little fuzzy kittens.

Ditto. Ditto everything you said. And also, YOU are quite the awesome lovely one yourself, Fris.

Ditto everything Fris said. MetaChat is a wonderful shared blessing and I completely dig that.

Happy day after your birthday, Fris!

And I gotta say, I like ya better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

mosch, it was the 16th - me and (purportedly) Beethoven, baby, but thanks all the same!

And your glowing endearments cause me to blush.

*hugs everyone*

I'm at home with my family now (yuck), but y'all make having to share a bed with my brother so much better!

There has to be a place on this list for hot, scary-looking guys holding kittens.

You should hear me squeal with glee when I see a puppy on the street. My image takes a serious hit, let me tell you.

Friz, you are a wonderful thing!

And I adore the sort of weather you described... I'm a total savage-weather junkie. One of the things I love about where I am now is that we have this wild winter wind from the north called the "Vardaris" (don't you have to love a wind that has it's own name?) that can be counted on to kick up quite a fuss at least a few times during the season... But not, usually, quite enough to totally disrupt everything (knock out electricity, etc.).

In fact, the only thing that somewhat dims my delight in interludes of howling wind, blizzards, insane rain, ice storms, and such, is the knowledge that it is endangering someone, somewhere. I want to experience that stuff, and know that everyone is safe at home by the fireplace drinking their hot cocoa or milky tea.
