Face Recognition Have we played with this webtoy before/recently?→[More:]
I wasn't getting any matches with the pictures of myself I usually make public (which means they're doing a good job of keeping me mysterious), but my high school yearbook picture matched with (in declining order) John Malkovich, Danny Elfman, Cary Grant and Gerald Ford. Pfffffffft.

huih. it gave me a different set of matches when i took out the 'when was this taken' data. now it's the same list but with odilon redon in front, more or less. plus some old dudes. jeff davis eg.

okay back to work with my masculine dan quayle self. i have lots of important sobbing to do and i cannot put it off any longer.

seriously jennifer connelly and danny boy. i say godddamn.

As an experiment I submitted three pictures and the following matched at more than 60%:
Damon Hill 70% (British racing legend)
Amitabh Bachchan 62% (Bollywood legend)
Chuck Palahniuk 61% (Fight Club author)
Nick Cage 61% (Actor)
Sean Penn 61% (Actor)
Karl Marx 60% (um, Marxist)
None of whom look like me.
Then I made a composite of their faces in Photoshop and came up with
this guy, who doesn't look like me either. I just wish I looked like Amrita Rao or Sophia Loren so at least I could make out with myself.

I got 54% on Kevin Smith and Matt Groening, both of whom I have been told I look like in real life. (I don't, it's just that all white bearded guys run together in some people's eyes.)

Interestingly, I also got 50% on Eddie Murphy. Skin tone aside, I don't see that because he has a skinny face and I have a round one.
