28 October 2005

I'm FULL! [More:]
9 oz Filet Mignon cooked medium, caesar salad, two of the most delcious rolls on Zod's green earth, a baked sweet potatoe (a huge one) with butter and brown sugar, a bottled root beer that actually tastes like it was made from sassafras, and not one bite of it came from Taco Bell.

I'll have to stay up until midnight just so I can run without vomiting.

Also I wore my bright orange Polo shirt, so we will call this my Halloween meal since I will likely be inside hiding on Halloween night. =P
I'm going to have frozen pizza and six pack of red dog.

Store deli fried chicken, cole slaw, soft rolls, gin and tonic, and a cake made in the shape of a spider.

Oh, and "a baked sweet potatoe" means weretable and the undead chairs is actually Dan Quayle, apparently.

Whatever they're serving in the company dining room. I think it's fried chicken tonight. And unless I miss my guess, that means green beans and mashed potatoes as well.

I miss eating at home.

come on man, Medium Rare or rare are the only ways to eat steak. I rewarded myself (for getting through this week) tonight with a homemade patty melt -grilled cheese on rye with sauteed onions and a burger in the middle- and now I'm bloating it up on the couch.

Update: it was indeed (flavorless) fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The vegetable was a "medley" of peas, carrot, corn, and something red which may have started life as a bell pepper but was rendered unidentifiable by our kitchen staff.

On the upside, they're using real potatoes now rather than Potato Buds or whatever that wallpaper-paste substitute they used to serve was called. Also it was free, so I really shouldn't be bitching like this.

A FUCKING COMPANY DINING ROOM?

God, I'm in the presence of royalty.

You may rise.

Actually, it ain't all that. I work in a retirement home. We get the same food the residents do.

For a minute there I thought I had slipped through a wormhole into 1998.

I had a homemade little pizza with wholegrain crust, fresh tomato, oregano and mushrooms. It was good, but not really pizza is you know what I mean.

Beef in red Thai Curry sauce (mmm...how have I lived so long without coconut curry?) and spicy chicken on flat noodles. With a great Thai beer. In the best Thai restaurant in the world.

I had some mad cow for dinner.

Actually, I had Thai food, like muddgirl: a delicious coconut soup that had little bits of inedible flavor-infusing wood chips in it that I had to line up around the saucer every time I almost broke my teeth on them.

It was a good time.
