FEMA doesn't understand children. As if the FEMA rap wasn't proof enough, the link is a list from the FEMA of things kids can do to help when a disaster strikes.[More:]
It informs children to buy flood insurance, have hurricane straps installed, bolt the home to the foundation, and install flame retardant shingles on their roofs. Ahh, the halcyon days of youth when I bought insurance and roofed the house.

On another note, the FEMA for kids site is hosted by Herman the hermit crab, who lives in the tidepool where your home used to be.
Those who know what's best for us,
Must rise and save us from ourselves.

Unbelievable. I guess the idea is that kids are supposed to nag their parents to do this stuff. Or something.

What's that, little Johnnie? You say I need to what? Do you know how much that costs! Go play with your legos.
