Where the ladies at? I can rarely remember who is a lady-woman and who is a gentle-man here. I mean I'm usually pretty sure, but then when it comes time to post I am suddenly filled with panic and self doubt, and end up with akwark gender avoiding constructions (like here). So anyway, can we get, like, blue homme and little pink femme and little.. I dunno, green other/unspecified icons beside user names? →[More:] P.S. I am pretty much 100% kidding.

I thought it was pretty obvious that I was female, but the day after a group dinner for an out of town friend, a mutual friend used a close up of my cleavage as his avatar on website that we all post on. That afternoon, he sent me a text message that said, "Please don't hate me". I got home to find a thread full of dozens of posts expressing everything from irritation to full blown support that I was, in fact, a man. Even though he went to great lengths to clear it up, over a year later, I still get introduced to people who are surprised to find out I'm female.
