Thanks, iconomy! I've been looking forward to I&W live for close to two years now and am stoked that Calexico is co-heading. From what I've read, this is a full joint effort (as opposed to opener/headliner style) and often involves local musicians, so each show is in a sense specific to the location. All in all, it just sounds like a bunch of fun with a bunch of super talented people.

*starts chanting 'SPECK-SPECK-SPECK'*

I'd pretty much give anything to go with you, dear Fris Fris, for both the company and the line-up. I've been listening to I&W quite a bit lately. I wish I weren't so far from you.

Not to change the subject, but tonight it will be my privilege to see Sharon Jones (more here) and the Dap-Kings. MeChatters other areas can check out her schedule for upcoming dates (she'll be in your neck of the woods next May, Fris!). (And if you're in Lawrence and read MeCha, perhaps I'll see you out tonight...I'm looking at you, interrobang!)

Ohohoh, mm, I forgot that I had the sweetest Harvey Girls dream last night that you and Hiram and 'bang came to SF on your big tour and were super popular. I was in line with pup and Speck and we turned around to find Hiram and 'bang standing behind us by a door to a service hallway.

Hiram was really tall and quiet but nice, 'bang was normal guy size and full of wit and just as I was about to be bummed that you weren't there, you came out of the door and you smelled just like orange freesias. WooT!
