Where do you share webspace with your mother? I wouldn't worry about it. People can take care of themselves. This said I doubt I'd be hanging out anywhere my parents would be.

I think it's completely normal. Moms are going to push your buttons like no one else can. Someone glibly (yet rather profoundly) put it like this, "Moms push your buttons so much because they are the ones who installed them". If it really bothers you, limit your interaction via social media with mom. Furthermore, don't worry about other people and their reactions, for the most part, I assume they are adults and can take care of themselves.
Seconding cjorgensen, I don't really hang out anywhere my parents would be in the first place. Words to live by.

My mother is like this and I feel the same way, at least on facebook which I assume is what you are talking about. She seems to just ABBAZABBA steamroll over other people and be weird. That said, I'm pretty sure this is a perspective issue with me, because I have no other explanation for why other people never ever notice or comment on this sort of thing.

Yeah, I am one giant ball of cringe around my mother online and off.

although to be fair to me, lots of my friends have said that they are, too, so she really must be bad

She does have a rather intense personality in real life
And you're probably reading this, through no fault of your own, into her comments/posts whether she intended it that way or not. I assume she's commenting on other adults comments? If they're offended they can take care of themselves. So, I wouldn't worry about it.

[Or, on non-preview, what msali said.]

My mum is on FB, sort of. And she knows about Metachat and MetaFilter. She could easily sign up at either place, but I think she has deliberately not done so so I have a couple places "just for me".
