Hey heatherann, good to see you around again! So sorry to hear you had surgery, I hope your recovery goes quickly. Until you get your brain back to normal, maybe you could try watching some short/funny television shows to keep you occupied? If you have netflix instant, perfect! If not, hulu also has tons of stuff to keep you entertained. Archer and 30 Rock are the two I have in mind. Both are funny (but not gutbusting funny, at least not to me) and engaging without requiring your entire attention span, and is an enjoyable way to pass 20-25 minutes.
Do you have someone who is helping you take care of yourself? If so, send that person out for sudoko or crossword puzzles and takeout from your favorite restaurant. Treat yourself well when recovering, you'll heal much faster!
I had laparoscopic surgery once, and even though I felt like crap the first few days, I was actually up and around within a week. Hopefully you will be back on your feet shortly! Good healing!

I have Netflix but no Hulu because I am in Canada. I will check if those shows are available here or not. The American selection is so much bigger!

My husband is around and taking care of me. I think he will go to work today but it is only a 15 minute walk away, so I am not too stranded. Very happy we have a condo and I don't need to navigate stairs this week!

I do jigsaw puzzles or play solitaire (real cards, not computer) and listen to the radio. Actually, I probably do too much of that on a regular basis, but anyway, it's a good mindless activity.
