Pennebaker one of the first shots of Bowie is him talking to some people and the camera keeps zooming in on Bowie's face, but he keeps turning his head away. On the DVD commentary Pennebaker said he hadn't met Bowie yet, but heard he had two different colored eyes and was zooming in so he could see if it was true.
