A few years ago I got a wicked ear infection on the night of my birthday and didn't go to work the next day because I went to the ER at 5 am and stayed for several hours. Even with documentation and meds, there was a lot of suspicion and NO FUN WAS HAD! Can you at least have some limited enjoyment by watching great movies or maybe ordering in some food? (I always use illness as an excuse to break my diet and drink strawberry soda!) I hope you feel better soon.

But it's not the day after my birthday. But it is the second day in a row. But I called my manager both days and definitely sounded like shit on the phone so other than probably losing vacation time (boooo) and not being able to update my timecard (we get annoying email notices when we don't) I don't think they're going to be too suspicious.
