Reading a book by looking at jpegs of 375-odd two-page spreads sounds about as fun as spending an afternoon dropping cinderblocks on my feet.

FTA: "n places, the text is impossible to read, however, owing to poor lighting or focus. "If you plan on sitting down and reading it all, you might need to see your eye-doctor later," wrote one commenter on a page devoted to the files."

I don't quite get it. If you are willing to go through the trouble of taking photos of all the pages, then why not do it properly?

If you are willing to go through the trouble of taking photos of all the pages, then why not do it properly?

Because then it would be proved that you're really just a wanker posting a 500-page piece of "fan"-fiction?

Why aren't people just willing to wait until Friday to find out what happens? Come on people, sing that good ole' childhood song* with me:
Have patience, have patience. Don’t be in such a hurry. When you get impatient, you always start to worry. Remember, remember, that God is patient, and remember all the times that others have to wait for you

*I just found a website with clips of songs from a tape my mother threw away years ago. My life is fulfilled!

TPS: I suppose you're right. I saw the "epilogue" posted to Somethingawful forums earlier today. It looks like someone has their page numbers a bit wrong, since the book ended with page 759, whereas Amazon lists it as having 784 pages.

Who are these people who can't wait four freaking days to read this book?! When I was a kid, the best part about Christmas was the weeks of anticipation leading up to it. I never went rummaging through my parents' closet trying to find my gifts ahead of time, although I had plenty of opportunities. What would that have gained me? A moment's instant gratification followed by weeks of agonizing over the pointless postponement of my fun, tantamount to a month of rainy Saturdays.

I hope this book ends on a cliffhanger and J.K. Rowling joins a convent and retires from writing forever.

I am so very tempted to take a glance at this stuff, just to see if it's real, but I'm determined to be virginal going into this thing.

And some of us are just weak-willed, TPS. Every year, before Christmas, I would unwrap one or two of my presents and wrap them back up again. Not all of them -- I didn't want to ruin all the surprises. Just wanted to sneak a peek at a few things. My parents never figured out I was doing the unwrapping/re-wrapping thing, either.

Anyway, I love spoilers in general, but not when they're thrust upon people who aren't looking for them.
