Thousands of people turned out to see the riders, who went past in a matter of seconds. But it was a great atmosphere, and the local Chabad Lubovich Centre was selling Kosher hot dogs and cookies, there was someone making balloon hats. It was a lot of fun waiting for the riders. The sight of them was very impressive indeed.
They'd already done the sprint stage about five miles away in Epping, so our stretch of road was a 'transition stage' to the next sprint in London.
