12 Months, 12 Projects For my New Year's Day post on my knitting blog, I wrote about the twelve knitting projects I completed in 2013.
I love the panda story, and the story about your dad & his slippers made me tear up a little. It's amazing when we can do something for someone else that means so much, isn't it?

My mom-law bought me knitting books this year for Christmas and she's giving me some of her old knitting needles which used to belong to her mom. I can't wait to be able to have the kind of list of completed projects.

Incidentally, is there a book or are there web tutorials you recommend for beginners?

I don't know what book or tutorial to recommend for beginners, TrishaLynn. There are certainly loads and loads of them out there, but I'm not familiar with any of them. I'd maybe look for books that are highly rated on Amazon, or search/ask on Ravelry. If you haven't joined Ravelry, I recommend it. It's free and it's an incredible resource for knitters and crocheters.

TrishaLynn -- I really like this book. Common sense approach (I couldn't remember the title or author, so I searched using the phrase "dumb baby bonnet," which gives you an idea of her writing style).

I have the previous version of this book and really liked it when I started to knit (the crochet version was also good). For videos, I usually go to knittinghelp.com.

Happy 2014 everyone. Here are Woody Guthrie's New Year's Resolutions. || The most domestic arts thing I've ever done....
