No idea on material...it's ...yellow? Metal, not plastic.

Yeah it looks like the mockingjay but isn't (ask me how many mockingjay pins I see around here, a lot)

I looked up the FOE, doesn't look the same, but maybe it's an earlier design? I'm a bit wary about pins from organizations I'm not actually a part of and that still exist. I don't wanna be walking around with the symbol of the International Fascist pig-diddler union now would I?

It could be gold plated plastic. That's really a thing for buttons and pins. I saw in on How It's Made.
