Ipad happiness Kinda wowed these days by magazines on my Ipad (and it is a 2, not a new one.)
I have liked my New Yorker on Ipad for quite awhile, for reasons illustrated in part by this awesomely funny video, and Sports Illustrated and Economist and Atlantic are fine in electronic form too. But yesterday I read my National Geographic -- the new one with Titanic on the cover -- on it. OMG. Touring the Titanic on the seabed on my Ipad2 was almost as amazing as accompanying a hike up K2. I really felt I was there. Today I downloaded my Smithsonian magazine on the Ipad 2.

There's something just incredible about being able to go from text to video and back seamlessly, to see where things are on maps and then return to reading an article, and the look of the brilliantly beautiful images when they appear on the screen.

Hard to believe that Ipad3 view is even better than that.

I have an iPad 2, and I love it for many reasons. The economist is awesome, and it's great for me to read it on there. Then there's the apps like Flipboard, Zite, and Pulse, which are fantastic for perusing. Life magazine has a neat app too.

A friend has the iPad 3, and the display is indeed amazing. I think if I was an artist or a photographer, I would use it for a portable portfolio. A friend of ours is a goldsmith (who did our wedding rings), and they use it for showing things he's done in the past. I'm not wishing I had waited for the iPad 3 over this one, I'm happy with what I have.
