Just saw Contagion and now I'm thinking about everything that I've touched today. [More:]A little late to the party on this one but today was the first time in months that we had time to go to the movies. It did a decent job of being mostly scientifically plausible and avoiding some of the standard disaster movie cliches.
I really want to see this movie.

Very good movie; Soderbergh has a very old fashioned style of cinematography and editing that I love. Any movie maker that takes the time to frame shots interestingly and then holds them long enough to let you appreciate them makes me happy. Fishburn is very strong and is actually more the lead than Damon which you wouldn't know from the commercials. It makes me happy that someone is making big budget movies with an IQ above 75.

Just the TRAILER of that movie strongly freaks me out.

I'm really looking forward to this coming out on Redbox. I like Soderbergh quite a bit. That said, I'm not sure anything could freak me out best as much as my MicroBio class did.

So did Jude Law have prosthetic teeth in that movie or does his mouth really look that bad?

If you're a very mean person, keep a copy of The Red Zone on hand to give to your sick, bedridden friends.

Yeah, or Flu by Gina Kolata. I'm the opposite of a germophobe and that book (nonfiction, natch) freaked me right the hell out.
