Yes, we've had Aero in the UK forever. They do a mint one, which is disgusting. Cadbury's also do a similar one, Wispa, which is denser.
For me, even as a kid I always saw them as a bit of a waste of money. Why eat a chocolate bar containing air when you can eat one made of solid chocolate?
Anyone remember orange Aeros? Vile. Would've been better if they'd flavoured the chocolate, but they did it with that weird-ass filling like the mint ones.
Although many images of holey things bother me a bit, this one does not. Behold the power of chocolate, I guess?
It's sort of interesting trying to figure out why certain images of holey things bother me and others don't. Since the topic came up in that MeFi post, I figured I must have some mild form of trypophobia. But quite a lot of the examples given don't actually bother me at all.
Regular grids of holes? Fine. No problem with the speaker grilles, honeycombs, stacks of pipes, etc. Things which are clearly foams rather than "holes", no problem there either.
Irregular holes in something that shouldn't normally have them... not much of a problem if it's an inanimate object or even leaves of plant, but if it's a living animal of some type... shudder.
So maybe this is not trypophobia but actually something else?
I had one of those Hershey's kisses today. Nicer than regular ones, because they melt nicer. Hershey's is quite waxy, and this improves it. 1st thing I thought when I saw the commercial - Yeah, bet they won't charge less even though you get less crappy chocolate.
