You know a movie is bad if this is the best image the studio could find to give reviewers. It looks like they stuck Ryan Reynolds' head on a cartoon body.
Onion video: 'Green Lantern' To Fulfill America's Wish To See Lantern-Based Characters On Big Screen. "Star Fix reports on the new 'Green Lantern' movie based on the comic-book hero everyone definitely knew about before the film was made."

Summary of NPR review #1: Green Lantern is a great movie for comic book geeks, because it's true to the form of the old, cheesy comic books.

Quote from NPR #2: "It's more of a science fiction space opera than a superhero epic and it only works in fits and starts as it tries to make sense of its wacky premise."

In related comics-to-film discussions, it was very strange to hear a fellow bus commuter talk about X-Men: First Class. I imagine she's in her mid to late 40s, and I don't think she knew about the X-Men prior to their first movie (from over a decade ago? Crikey), but the liked the origin story.
