Okay, speaking from the middle of farm country here.... I guess I'll just restrict myself to macro photos of gummy bears if this sort of thing becomes federal law. It's fun, and utterly and completely inoffen

Hold on. Couple of squad cars outside the building.

The only thing that comes to mind is "so those folks who want to take and sell me aerial shots of my property, that'll be a felony now?"

Remember, Florida is the state where they had to have a citizenry-shoved-through state *constitutional amendment* to improve living conditions for pregnant pigs. That was the only way to make it happen, because the legislature wouldn't pass anything themselves. Agriculture and retired people are the only real powers in this state :( So yeah, "I'm worried about those animal welfare folks maybe taking pictures of my farm to show that I'm disobeying regulations" is apparently a serious concern to out legislature.

Anything else the citizens want done, it has to be in the form of a constitutional amendment entirely put together by non-govt groups. Even getting fewer than 40 kids to a classroom had to be done that way...then Jebbie managed to get it repealed without making any moves to act on it, the rat bastard, by pushing nastygram ads about how much it was going to make taxes go up and implying that the taxes would go into the void rather than doing anything.

It isn't just Florida.
Here in Iowa, a bill has just passed out of committee that would make it a crime to film inside industrial livestock facilities. See HERE
It may not pass; the Iowa Senate is still controlled by Democrats- but agribusiness here is pretty powerful.

Yeah, I imagine it's this and "I totally hire undocumented migrants but don't want it to bite me in the ass in case I decide to run for City Council as a True Patriot™". Bullshit, but bullshit abounds, sadly.

Should call it what it is: the Protect Big Agribusiness From the Exposure of their Malfeasance Bill.

Used to review all legislation that concerned my organization that was introduced in Washington, every year. Many silly bills are introduced in every state legislature every year. This one is worth a look only if it has some political traction (no pun intended), which I doubt.
