MAIL MERGE LABELS HEEEEEEEEELP Microsoft Office nerds, step inside. [More:]I'm doing a mail merge to create mailing labels from a template (5160), and all is going well, EXCEPT that when I do the merge itself, it's only merging 1 label per page. There should be 30 per page. How do I fix this?
Using Word 2003, when I do a mail merge I can edit the recipient list in steps three and five. Each entry has a checkbox that I can toggle - checked to be included, blank to be excluded. Is this the same in your version? Are all your boxes checked?

Also, in step four (arranging the data on your labels) I have a button to replicate the data layout on the rest of the page. If you have this, click it and it should copy the required fields to all the labels on the page.

On preview, yes, that's what I was missing- the "Propogate" button. I wasn't using the Mail Merge toolbar, didn't know it was a necessary step! Now I am a learned scholar indeed.

Now that the question has been answered:

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away I took a test to see how well I knew Word 200x. I had never been trained or done much with Word, but I faked my way through it and got everything right except mail merge. I got an 80% on the test and the temp agency hired me. The End.

My confession: I've never used mail merge for a business function - and first used it to make baby shower envelope labels just last year.

The only times I've done a mail merge was in those tests! I've never done one for real before today, hahahah.

The downside of the merge is that now I have to stuff 830 envelopes. Well, I got some done today, only 650 to go :(

Crap! That's a lot of envelopes.

TPS, throw an envelope stuffing party!! with cocktails!!

you may laugh, but srsly, announcing to our friends at large that we'd provide beer + pizza if they provided help was the only way we ever managed to handle stuffing somewhere north of 1500 series flyer mailings every spring back in the 90s when I was part of a bike race promotions team.

these days the cycling federation does 95% of everything online including event calendars and online registration, woot!

I use mail merge a whole lot. I am the queen of mail merge in Office 2007! All shall love me and despair!

Sorry I missed this thread.

I have not yet made to make the leap at this job to 2007. Good! I prefer 2003.
