Has Metafilter been bought out by Google?
Linkage to something that suggests such a turn of events?

When I go to the site, I'm redirected to the Google home page. Tried various browsers, all the same.

Huh. MeFi is working for me. Maybe it's a new firewall at the office?

That happens to me with Twitter and Facebook all the time.

It's a DNS proxy problem on certain Cisco routers. I can't pretend like I understand it, I think it's mostly Comcast users(?). It happens to me all the time, I will try to load Facebook and get MySpace instead, or Yahoo. Here is some info about it:

Huh, WRT160N on Comcast. That totally squares with my situation.

My ISP is a large public institution. No Comcast here.

Comcast owns the public now.
