07 June 2009

I get to post this because I don't have any study hours tonight. I am now a graduate of Naval Nucular Power School! My final exam was last Tuesday, graduation was on Friday, and I've spent the weekend showing my parents around Charleston.[More:]It was six months of hard work, but it really paid off. Now I get to enjoy 3 months on hold working as a lab assistant and a relaxing 9-5 schedule. After that, six months of practical training at the Prototype facility in Charleston and then the fleet (hopefully, a ballistic missile submarine).
Congrats!

Congrats!

Though the thought of working on a submarine gives me claustrophobic nightmares.

Hey, Concrete, you're a submariner?

Have you read this book:

Submarine Technology For the Twenty-First Century

If so, what did you think about it? (If the technology involved is too classified to talk about, no worries.)

Awesome! My brother was Navy, but he was only a fireman. But at least it was on the Big E, and he did see the world (mostly the equatorial part).

Wow, congrats! Seems like only yesterday you were going to boot camp (I forget, you went in as an enlisted man, correct?)

Congratulations and good luck!

(At work we're about to lose the group lead for a year or so to some Navy posting in CA - I think he's a submarine dude, so if you do run into him at some point he is totally awesome and you should convince him to get you beer.)

Big Congrats!

Must feel so good to get that behind you and to have the possibility of free time w/out guilt! Do you catch yourself thinking you should be studying?

Congradulamations!

One of my brothers was in the Navy; I don't know exactly what he did (something on the flight deck). At one point he was assigned to submarine duty, but he had to get out of it because he's 6'3".

Thank you all for your congratulations.

Ardiril: Yes, you were right.

Mightshould: I find myself trying to take notes at every brief I´ve gone to since graduation.

TPS: Yes, I went in as an enlisted man. I don´t think I´d want to be responsible for what a sub officer has hanging over him (or her, if the predictions I´m hearing are true).
