Holy crap! I got an LED to light up on a breadboard! I'm getting a bit obsessively into "embedded electronics" and "programming microprocessors." I have no electronics background, but a friend taught me how to solder a simple pre-made kit together, and now I'm hooked. So I found this set of tutorials, and have successfully graduated from the very first one!

Until now, I'd always thought this was way too butch for me!

What, ho! Sir, next you will be an expert at receiving transmissions using a crystal radio! Bully!

Ohh, that looks like fun. I haven't done much with electronics since high-school. I have friends that do embedded programming, there's a bunch of robotics work around here, but I've never gotten into it.

When you get really good at it, people will actually pay you money for your services! It's true!

I always knew just enough electronics to spec out custom projects, but I wish I had learned more.

I highly recommend the Basic Stamp kit with their microcontroller book. There are a lot of very interesting projects.

The projects are small, straightforward, generally interesting and usually you can find a way to mod them to do something else.
