I'm sorry, that just made me giggle. Possibly due to the purple prose. But I'm glad things worked out!

Here's to the happy couple and the clumsy groom-to-be!

(Wonder if he'll drop the wedding ring too?)

the pic at the top of this article is one hundred kinds of awesome. I can't stop laughing.

That version of the story left out that people called the police when they saw him climb down the bridge, thinking he was going to jump off it. The police came, told him not to jump, and he was like, I'm not, I just need the ring! So they stopped traffic so he could get it.

I first thought it was into the water, like, gone forever. That's not bad, just getting it fixed isn't nearly as rough as getting a new one.

Also, wtf with the writer's shock that traffic didn't damage the diamonds? They're the hardest substance on earth. If cars could damage them roads would crumble on a weekly basis!

That wouldn't happen to me. One of my phobias is dropping things off bridges. I habitually check for my wallet, my wristwatch (now phone), that sort of thing.

Funny, the only time I actually lost something off a bridge was when I was fishing, age 12 or so, and a couple of neighborhood bullies took my work gloves and threw them in the river.
