Sick day music! I caught a nasty virus and I'm home sick. What is getting me through the day?→[More:]Two bands I discovered at Austin City Limits last year:

Abigail Washburn and the Sparrow Quartet: Lots of old-time banjo and fiddle, mixed with songs inspired by Chinese folk tunes. Béla Fleck seems to be very popular with the indie kids these days, so they should like this band too. My favorite song from their album is probably A Fuller Wine (there are a few other good tracks on divshare; I think their whole album can be streamed from their website).

Man Man: My favorite description is "manic Gypsy jazz". Their live show is unabashedly physical. I like Big Trouble a lot (you can stream most of their latest album on their myspace page).

I am wearing pajamas! And feeling sick! This actually sort of sucks - I prefer "mental health days" because I can actually do stuff other than watch silly youtube videos.

Also sick. Still. Bored of it. Watched all the TV. Pulled out Dai Senryaku VII, and will play that until I go mad.

I really hate being sick in Summer. It just seems wrong. I hunker down in bed with a book, but have to change doonas all the time, because I'm soaking them in sweat. Shit, I don't even know if I'm hot or cold...

Went to the doc today, and did the stupid "Yeah, I've got some sort of virus. Yeah, I know there's nothing to do but lie about in bed and take lots of fluids, but it's taken longer to get over than I'd've thought, and now I'll need a sick-note for work, and yes I know I'm wasting your time" thing. I hate that, but hey, now I've got a sick-note that goes until Friday...
