Eideteker, the Democratic caucus could be 59. That doesn't mean everybody in it is a party member. Sanders and Lieberman are both officially independents (Joe calls himself an Independent Democrat), but both caucus with the Democrats. Basically, that makes them privy to strategy and eligible for committee assignments.
