Friday 3-point update!→[More:]
1) It is a gorgeous crisp blustery day on the Front Range.
1. Window installation is going well.
2. Refrigerator guys are slagging on the plumber that I wasted two days waiting for. I tend to believe the plumber.
3. Clinging to the fabulous mood in which I woke up with every fiber of my being.
1. Just deleted a long work-related rant. But with every day that passes, I know that this job has run its course with me.
2. It's pouring with rain and it appears that the guttering is blocked. I can't bear the idea of dealing with the arsehole upstairs so I will get someone in to clear it at my own expense. The building owner told me today that my neighbour from hell has asked about buying the loft space (which isn't included in his lease) and converting it into extra bedrooms. The building owner told me that this is not going to happen, for various reasons related to existing breaches of the lease by my neighbour.
3. Although I loathed and detested the ten minutes or so I saw of the TV series, I have a horrible and almost uncontrollable compulsion to go and see the Sex and the City movie. Someone please stop me before it's too late.
1. Hip pain from sitting on that damned sofa. I need to chuck that sucker.
2. Finally over my cold, overmedicating so I don't have a recurrence
3. Friday! Listening to Weird Al! It's All About The Pentiums, baby!
lfr: cool!
ej: do not go. There's bound to be something equally boring you can spend three hours doing which does not involve the price of admission and lots of strangers in close proximity being irritating.
WEIRD AL YANKOVICH IS AN UNQUESTIONABLE GENIUS. I'm so white and nerdy!!
1. The highlight of my life is the one day each week (Fridays) when I sort of break my diet and order large amounts of Chinese food that lasts through the weekend.
2. My therapist is convinced that most of my problems would go away if I only "liked myself better". I don't know what that means (I like some of my qualities, but not others); he says I'm resisting this notion. How can I resist something when I don't know what it means? May post Askme question about this, elaborating further.
3. Since I'm freezing all the time due to said diet (always ran cold even before the diet), I'm actually looking forward to the predicted 90° F weather in the Boston area this weekend.
essexjan, the series didn't thrill my soul either. I could take it or leave it. I mainly watched it for the clothes. I liked the movie though. Amazingly, It was kind of entertaining. I actually cried. Go just to see these women's sculpted bodies and beautiful clothes. Holy hell, Miranda is beautiful. It's oddly inspiring. I went with a group of friends. If I didn't, I probably would have not gone.
1. I'm in my bathing suit, waiting for my sister to get off work so we can pick her up, come home, and set up the new slip n slide we bought at Wal-Mart last night.
2. BUT there's a rumor that my sister made a wedding makeup appointment for today. What the French, toast? The wedding isn't for 6 months, but we NEED to do the slip n' slide today!
3. In the meantime, I'm sitting in my bathing suit, watching Kathy Griffen talk about meeting an Olsen twin.
1. I got samples of cymbalta to tide me till my mail order scripts came in, after 5 days of withdrawal-- and the meds came in the mail today. Of course.
2.Need to get some pics of flower garden progress-- the gardens are looking great.
3. Want to talk husband into Greek Night at our local restaurant for dinner.
1. I just got a cd in the mail. "MSB", the Michael Stanley Band. Backstory - when I was just about 19, I flew to Ogden, Utah, to visit my best friend, who'd married an Army guy a few months before. He was from Ohio, where MSB was a local favorite. I came home from Utah with an Ohio accent and a passion for MSB. "Spanish Nights" is my all-time favorite, but I couldn't find it anywhere to give it to you guys. Funny, it's making me emotional; nostalgic for those long ago days and the times and the friends.
2. Eating fresh strawberries from my strawberry patch. Mmmmmmm.....
3. NOT looking forward to the predicted weekend heat wave. The nineties are not my favorite temperature.
