“It’s a Christian business, a Christian environment,” he added. “It’s a better feel. You stand a little taller, don’t grunt, don’t get pumped and yell, ‘Daddy’s got a new set of pipes.’ ”

Has anybody in the entire history of humanity ever actually yelled "Daddy's got a new set of pipes"? Outside of a hardware store, I mean.

and women’s tops must cover their bottoms.

Huh? I'm no Christian, but I thought a top covered yer top and yer bottom covered yer bottom.

But hey. Anything that gets people to the gym.

It's a common refrain in churches. You know, the organist and all.

Must not be a Methodist thing. All we ever did was sing hymns in the wrong key.

Well, I do wear big shirts to cover my big rear. Nobody needs to see that. I'm more comfy that way, is all.

But I personally think you can't "christianize" yoga. Yoga is what it is. Either take it for what it is or avoid it. I do the latter because a) I know what yoga is and the power behind it and b) to treat it otherwise is kinda offensive to Hindus if you think about it a little. And according to the Internet some of them agree with me.

I wonder if the Christian gym gets a tax break. I haven't read the article yet.

Now Florida has Christian gyms and neighborhoods! Another.

For most (all) people I know (Westerners), the power behind it is stretching muscles that normally don't get stretched.

Ceiling God is watching you exercise.
If I wasn't already on the Highway to Hell, this clinches it.

I think "downward facing god" would be a great name for an album, or book, or short story. Or a song - where's Coil when you need them? Or Neil Gaiman, for that matter.
