This is why we can't re-heat nice things!
Leftover fettucini alfredo + Microwave oven = Horror on a paper plate (photos inside...)
The sad thing? I actually took a bite.

That looks like something I pulled out of a drain once.

I would still eat it. But then it's lunch time and I am hungry.

(The plate's not yellow, by the way—that's melted butter that has separated from the congealed cream and cheese sauce.)

H.P. Lovecraft called; he wants his oeuvre back.

Eww. I wouldn't eat it. Looks like time to call out for food.

That looks like something that would heat okay in the oven, with bread crumb and parmesan topping. It wouldn't be the same, but at least it wouldn't look like -- nevermind. What did you end up doing?

I would dump it in a bowl, remix all the fat back in with the sauce, and then eat it, because yes, I was a college student not too long ago.

It looked edible.......

Until you explained that the plate isn't yellow. Oh god no.

It's a shame one can't convey odor via computer screen, because believe me—it's a total package.

Update: I spat out the bite, and dumped the sad, sad pasta en la basura, and now the whole break room smells of curdled butter and desperation. (But it always kind of smells like that.)

That always happens when I try to reheat a cream sauce or bechamel. Sucks, don't it.

Is it terribly, terribly wrong that I feel kind of hungry now?

Now I'm slightly worried about reheating the mac and cheese I made last night.

I've never had any luck with reheating Alfredo sauce.

OK people, you don't nuke it till it glows when you're doing cream sauces...

Use the low setting, defrost setting, or something like power level 3. Stir often. If you have lots of pasta, add a small bit of water since the pasta will continue to take up water sometimes.

Ugh... Worst thing I reheated recently was a nice homemade thai red curry. The coconut milk separated out into curdled chunks of... matter... and bright red coconut oil.

Guess that's what you get for cooking without industrial stabilisers. :(

Perfectly edible, just not photogenic. I would have eaten it (and have eaten stuff like that).
