Tonight: Going to bed soon, it's after 11pm and I was up early today.

Tomorrow: I might go to Bluewater, a big shopping mall in Kent. It's a while since I've been there.

Sunday: Sleet and snow is forecast, so I probably won't go too far. There's football on TV and it's a crucial stage in the season, so I'll probably watch a couple of games and otherwise have a quiet day.

lleachie, lucky you! I have a crush on Morgan Spurlock.

FUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK. Grr.

I thought that I was going to the aforementioned punk-rock-show-at-a-Starbucks. But it got rained out.

I thought that I was going to a yearly street party with tons and tons of local bands on Saturday. But that's next weekend.

I thought that I was going to the local awesome college radio station's annual outdoor show. But that is also next weekend.

So...I dunno, you tell me: WTF AM I doing this weekend?!

GAH.

I'm dining at the Union League, darlings. They filmed some scenes from Trading Places there and I've always wanted to see the inside. (Although the mister and I keep referring to it as Bushwood because it's more fun to talk like Ted Knight than Don Ameche.)

Going to the MeFi meetup in Chicago tonight, then hanging out with the woman all weekend because I'm about to start a new job that will keep me away from her :(

Being dragged to a party against my will this evening. It's one of those payback things for me dragging him to meetups against his will.

Rest of weekend: some gym, some work, some cleaning, some farmer's market, some shopping for new underwears, some baseball and basketball watching.

Saturday: Performing equally intricate ritual to force Morgan Spurlock to return my crush on him.

Mostly staying in and trying to shake off the remnants of the cold/sinus infection that the partner brought home from his cubicle farm last week, and which I came down with this week. *snorrrrrrt* *achoo*

Ugh.

Going to watch this movie which we bought on DVD and I'm really curious to see. (Probably tomorrow.) Will play a bit of Guitar Hero and Twisted Metal: black, and hopefully will find some time to get pics of the dogwood tree in our front yard, which is in full bloom, if it'll stop raining and storming. It's going to be a stay-at-home kind of weekend.

I'm contemplating paying someone else to do my nails. This would be a first for me.

There has also been some discussion of a trip to the rodeo.

I'm getting up at 8 (wayyyyy early for me on a Saturday) to take my daughter to see Girls Rock. I gave her an electric guitar for Christmas, and she's been fiddling around a bit--I hope this jump starts her a bit. ROCK!

Tonight? Crunching on tax prep for my ex-boyfriend's roommate. Until the very wee hours, I am sure.

Tomorrow: Meeting with said roomie, then therapy, then a disco nap, then an all-night Burner party in downtown L.A. until four in the morning.

Sunday: Depending on whether or not I do drugs, I will either nap very briefly or pull an allnighter, go to the early service at church, then I stick around to volunteer during the next two services AND stay for a meeting until 5pm.

Long weekend!

Had a First Friday gallery opening last night, I am showing two of my photographs with a group of friends for the month of April. The opening was great (photos of most of the photographers here).

Today I have some basic housework to do and wanted to take my dog to the park, but it's SNOWING and has been since I woke.

Sunday... I'll go to church, thinking about visiting a new one. Then to the gym. And am thinking of seeing the new Simon Pegg movie. Anyone seen it yet?

Heh. I'm soooooo late posting to this, and here's why:

We had bad bad baaaaaaaaaad storms blow through Arkansas this weekend. One of the worst-hit streets in all of Little Rock happens to be the street my in-laws have been living on for, oh, over 40 years. A 30-foot pine in their front yard decided mid-storm that it wanted to come see their living room up close, so it effectively karate-chopped their house in half.

Before learning this happened (somewhere around 12:30 in the morning), my wife and I bitched and griped and groaned about how GOD MUST HATE US because our hard drive got fried in the storm somehow while I was trying to power down. Did I have a good backup strategy? Of course not. I have a computer science degree, how would I know to do something like that?

So Friday night was coordinating phone calls between Missouri and Arkansas, making sure that everyone was safe and reassuring everyone else that everyone was safe. Saturday was boarding windows, helping arrange things to get the pine tree off the roof and the other trees out of the back yard (to the tune of nine thou that the insurance company won't pay), and keeping my father-in-law from going into the stratosphere (famous bad temper that I am occasionally called upon to help diffuse, coupled with a general lack of handiness that I am occasionally called in to offset).

Saturday was mostly dealing with my out-of-sorts baby, installing a new drive, and systematically getting us back online. Installing Windows is always a treat, not because it's hard (it's a piece of pie, really), but because of all the gaping goddamn holes you have to close while you're doing it.

But I had a treat tonight, as the annual pub crawl that accompanies our annual literary festival went down, and I was on hand to watch a poet buddy of mine kill at the podium. Made me wish I'd gotten something in before deadline.

Now I'm drunk and about to head for bed. My upper spine's a bit fucked from all the heavy lifting, but the whiskey helps. My in-laws sleep soundly under a partially-tarped, dry roof, albeit without gas or electricity. Tomorrow I shall mow, and hopefully run about three miles, and then back to the old grind.

Been a long couple of days. Sorry to go on so, but I can't really vent to family about all I've had to do. They sort of depend on me right now.

Jesus, that reads like put-upon bullshit. Please ignore. All's well here, I'm just feeling sorry for myself.

I had a lovely dinner with friends on Friday.

Today I went to yoga in the morning, fucked around in a very productively lazy way for the afternoon, then got a totally cute haircut this evening, then made myself a very nice dinner.

I have no idea what Sunday will hold. I plan to write my final paper for one of my classes, but I suspect I may slack off.

Yay, weekend. :-)

No it didn't, middleclasstool! You actually sounded pretty stoic and okay there. :)

Saturday we had friends for supper... and they were delicious! No, really, I cooked gumbo (it killed!) for a few people, and my friend's puppy (which I'll be taking care of for two weeks, beginning wednesday) came to the house for the first time. So I shopped, cleaned, cooked, ate, drank five glasses of wine, and went to bed with a headache while everyone was still there. They stayed up 'til five, and I got up around six. Yay, the hostess with the leastest!

Today we'll do so much nothing there won't be any nothing left for anyone else. We'll eat second-day gumbo omg, omg and watch tv and read and lay around. I may manage to get last night's dishes washed.
