Oh, I think that's sweet.

I received a letter from my grandmother the other day, informing me that she had learned how to use "the word pad" on her computer, since her hands were too shaky to write any more.

That's right, my dad showed her how to use a word processing program, and how to print the letter, "Just like a typewriter". Then she mailed it to me. It was very sweet. I'm thinking about emailing a letter to my dad and letting him print it out and deliver it.

We do that with my grandma (email my aunt). She thinks it's just the most amazing thing ever. She really loves getting short little emails and pictures.

The note in the link reminds me of a subscription cancellation we got when I worked at a magazine. On the cancellation form, in blocky, shaky old-man writing, it said "APHASIA! I CAN NOT SPEAK!"

Which, to at least one old man, was a perfectly valid justification for canceling a magazine subscription.

I hate when my internets get too full.

also, at the exact moment of my grandfather's death? he was checking his email. no kidding.

Now I'm tempted to write letters of my own along those lines and send them to ISPs so some poor person in customer service can have a laugh.
