Sunny and COLD....What's the forecast for YOU today? It doesn't have to be weather-related, either. Maybe I'm just feeling sunny and cold. Hmmm?
At a friend's last night, I put down the acoustic guitar upon which I was messing about with power chords, he picked it up and started picking "The Only One" by Billy Bragg. I had one of those wicked moments of re-loving a song all over again. Twas cool.

This morning, it's off for supplies while the rest of the brood is off swimming. I do actually, feel quite sunny, but yup, somewhat cold. Funny how the weather can mirror your mood. What's up with you lot?

It's windy, sunny, and cool. High of 62. Yesterday it was raining and windy and miserable. As I was pulling into the neighborhood, hail was pouring on my car. Tonight it is dipping down into the 30s. I feel bad for the bikers.

One of the patients brought me a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant this morning. What the hell? This is cardiac rehab, people! I ate it. :-)

1. So very Spring here it scares me. Beautiful, beautiful, gorgeous weather... but I think it's really supposed to be raining now. I fear what summer will be.

2. Really glad we didn't go to Thessaloniki this weekend, even though V. has three days off, and that his sister and her family didn't come to Athens. Both possibilities were discussed. Our forecast includes no broken bones or hospital stays. knocks on wood

3. Monday is "Clean Monday" here - a holiday, the beginning of Greek Orthodox Lent, plus, yeah - cleaning, all kinds of cleaning. It's also traditionally a day to fly kites.

FREEZING RAIN
LIGHT SLEET WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS

THEN SNOW THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW AND SLEET
ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 30 . ICE
ACCUMULATION OF LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH. NORTHWEST WINDS

Thunder Sleet Storms!?! WTF!

If you guys could hear the birds right now... they're maniacs, I tell you. It's like some nouveau director insisting that the sound designer put layers and layers of chirping and tweeting plus deeply emotive spells of warbly vamping to prove beyond a doubt that it's springy-springy, bouncy springtime. IT'S TOO MUCH, SILLY DIRECTOR! TRY TO BE MORE BELIEVABLE.

So, yeah - definitely no thunder sleet storms here; more like streaming sunshine, cats and dogs... and hailing mockingbird poop.

It's very sunny. Ice is melting all over the place, and falling in big chunks off the sides of the building.

freaking cold, and our heater seems to be broke (blowing cold air), and our landlord's office isn't really open on the weekends. So, cold.

Sunny, 3 degrees F. I wanted to do garden prep today -- but NO. It's maintaining 48-50 degrees in the world's smallest greenhouse, so at least the tomatoes and peppers and eggplant babies are happy.

Sunny and coldish. We were on the very southwestern tail of that big snowstorm that's moving across most of the US, got an Arkansas blizzard (about a foot in the north, several inches in the center of the state), and now it's sunny and clear and warming. Today is that always depressing experience of watching it all melt away to mud and puddles.

I, however, got a good nights' sleep on a new mattress, had a shower and a shave, and even got dressed up a little (my shirt, it has buttons). Gonna go check out the new container store today, woo.

Bright and sunny, with incipient fog. It's that thick honey sunlight with a slight tree-swaying breeze and the occasional squawk from a crow in the otherwise quiet early morning that in a film would indicate that something baaaaaaad is just about to happen. The fog is getting thicker and thicker and moving faster and faster. The birds that I can hear sound like they're moving away.

It's somewhere in the Mendes/Kubrick/Huston range, right now.

Which is probably about where I am emotionally, so that works.

oh my god it's Damien weather!

Right now it's warm and drizzly, which is how I'm feeling. But we are under a wind advisory for the afternoon, and it'll get colder. March Madness. Hmm. Well, I will watch some basketball. Go VCU!

Mud season has come to the Blue Ridge.

Cloudy, drizzly, high 30s-low40s. And my mood is like that also. Sort of a nothing day. Hanging out. Doing a few chores. I can't seem to get myself in the mood to have any fun.

Going to a party tonight that will be, like, 80% middle aged lesbians. . .not complaining, but it's interesting to go to those things, almost like being someone from another planet.

Overcast, constant rain, and warmish (40-50). SPRING!
This is the kind of rain where I open my window a crack, just to be able to hear it. I love the sound of rain, I don't know why.

Grey, rainy and dreary. My mood wasn't inclining that way, but now it is, because we have been in the apartment all morning, and I'm getting stir crazy. But I hate rain. It's a conundrum.

I wish there was a huge blizzard so I could justify going back to bed. Unfortunately it's sunny and cold so I feel like I have to accomplish something.

It was pretty grey outside today but now it's night and my personal forecast is drunk with the possibility of trouble.
posted by cmonkey 08 March | 12:46
Very windy here, with more to come, up to 70mph on Sunday night and through Monday. With rain too. Lovely.
posted by essexjan 08 March | 12:49
No lightening yes but so far in the last two hours there's been a driving rain storm, heavy sleet and now it's snowing. Bleh.
posted by octothorpe 08 March | 12:53
I like the forecast of "drunk with the possibility of trouble"! It's still cold as hell, but I have personally warmed up with plans to make some wicked homemade pizza and some gnocchi with a cream/pancetta/chanterelle sort of sauce, for friends tonight. I like to cook, and feeding people tends to make the cooking even more enjoyable I find.

(and, firefox's spellcheck only recognizes the "cream" in that recipe. Just for kicks, this is what firefox thinks I might be cooking: some Pinocchio with a cream/Concetta's/enchanters sort of sauce.

I wish there was a huge blizzard so I could justify going back to bed.

I just checked my forecast to see if there was even a sliver of a chance that a giant snowstorm would hit Monday, delaying my history exam.

But no.

Right now, it's steadily drizzly and gray, with suits my mood in the most cozy way. I'm tired, achy, and coming down with a cold. The weather and I agree that staying in the house, staying in pyjamas, and staying in a pile of blankets is the best plan.

Sunny and 70. Weather-wise, that is. Mood-wise is more like "It was a dark and stormy night."
posted by mudpuppie 08 March | 15:20
WINDY!

Seriously, gusts in the 40 mph range....and no, I live nowhere near essexjan!
posted by bunnyfire 08 March | 15:32
bunnyfire, you live somewhat (200 miles ish?) near me. It is crazy windy, yo.

gaspode you hate rain? Do people hate rain? I so love rain! It really is my favorite thing, weather wise.
posted by rainbaby 08 March | 20:05
My forecast got "drunk" right but they didn't predict "staying out until dawn" and "being woken up at 2 in the afternoon by the jerks downstairs shouting at each other in Turkish before getting started with their daily round of karaoke that gives me a headache on the best of days and a murderous rage on the worst".

Rain is the best thing ever. I hope it rains more before that stupid sun comes back.

Sunny, but crisp in the mornings. Autumn arrived here with a snap on exactly the 1st of March, after no more than a fortnight of summer weather here. Everyone is feeling pretty ripped off at this point, I can tell you.
