the Grandbun's daddy is on the US Cole... AND it's on the news again. My daughter just called me, a little nervous.
God bless your son and all of you.

Actually, the son-in-law, but he IS like a son to me.

I seriously doubt he's in any REAL danger at this point, just some sabre-rattling going on. But she's all of a sudden realising that this stuff is real.

It doesn't help that the USS Cole is famous for WHAT it's famous for.

THE DUDE WITH THE FUNNY BLACK TOWEL WRAPPED AROUND HIS HEAD NEEDS TO SMOKE SOME MORE OF THAT GOOD LEBANESE HASHISH.

...and just how would you KNOW it's good? Huh? HUH????

nah, last time american warships shelled the shit out of lebanon, the us got themselves 250 marines blown to smithereens by suicide bombers, convincing Reagan that it was time to year ass out of the region. as dumb as sending the cole over to scare hizbullah was, I don't see Bush, not even him, being that dumb.

maybe, just maybe, if by late summer mccain is like 70 points behind bush will indeed ignite WWIII just to leave that hot potato on obama's or hillary's desk. but as of now, it's not going to happen.

look, your son in law is safer there than he'd be going out to wendy's for burgers in florida

Ain't that the truth.

Actually, probably safer there than going for burgers here in Fayetteville, for that matter. I'm starting to believe that there really is no such thing AS a safe place.

Yes, it's always scary when it's someone you know.
It's somehow sickening to read about someone you didn't know, after the fact, and you end up feeling bad for not worrying about them "personally" too.
As if, worrying could really "do" anything....if so, we'd have a lot of loved ones, here, beside us today.
Thoughts are with you bunnyfire.
