I'm laying in bed with a box of kleenex, a cup of tea, and a bottle of Tylenol. WHO'S WITH ME? (well, not literally, it's only a queen size bed)
I'm with you in spirit! I would like to add a big bar of yummy chocolate.

well, damn- I thought it was a riddle!

I am just now finishing up with a cold that began Christmas day. Nagging cough goes on forever though... So far only 2 colds this season (since September) so far, which is good for me.

I hung in there for a long time, while my fiance had 2 bouts of strep throat (silly boy, take all your antibiotics the FIRST TIME!), and the dude in the cube next to me had some nasty cough and wouldn't stay home. (why is it that people in big corporations think they are SO IMPORTANT that the ocmpany will crumble to its knees if they don't come into work when they're sick? trust me, you do NOT matter that much.)

Feel better. I normally get an slight cold that last 2 months every winter, but on Friday I got leveled by the flu, which I hadn't had in over a decade. I forgot how incredibly crappy it is to be bed-ridden sick. I normally take the "pretend I'm not sick and tough it out" denial apporach, but I had no choice but to succumb.

dejardins- I figure it's because their home life sucks so bad they find work more relaxing.

I hope you feel better. Maybe order some hot and sour soup? (It's the only think I can taste when I'm that stuffed up.)

Is that why most people do it? I'm usually just to embarrassed or imagine everyone thinks I'm a slacker if I call in to my manager to ask to stay home due to a cold. Otherwise: an excuse to stay home? I'm all over it.

I'm home, repeatedly going between bed and the shitter.

I'm there. The flu's all gone, but it's been replaced by a cold that I do believe is rapidly becoming bronchitis. *brings her own blankie, thanks jrossi for much needed chicken soup*

I am happy to report that the cold/bug I feared was materialising on Friday never really hit. I felt somewhat icky Friday night and Saturday afternoon (that vaguely crappy "I'm getting a cold" deal), but have since bounced back to my normal annoyingly energetic self (this analysis brought to you by my colleague/teammate who came down with the crud last Thursday and is irked that I seem to have dodged the bullet).

the mister has got it, and good. he's been wheezing, sneezing, sore, achy and stuffy for over a week, the poor guy. I am giving him lots and lots of TLC, tho I forcibly hauled him out of bed on Sunday to get some fresh air, sunshine and spicy tom kha, after which he felt much better. We're blaming his sister and niece for the plague, as they both had nasty colds over Xmas while we were visiting.

small_ruminant, I'm right there with you. Spicy Asian soups are the only thing I crave when I'm illin, and the mister is now a convert. Thankfully, I haven't had a serious flu/cold for several years now.

I'm in the burbs. I doubt spicy asian anything is on the menu around here. Besides, my tummy is now upset, and I'm doing a plinth.
