01 January 2008

How's your weather? (Snow) Stormy here. Experiencing frequent power outages. Power off, power on, power o
Snow, snow, stupid stupid snow here in Maine. Snowiest December in years and now it's clouding up to start the January run. For the 14 years I've lived here I have generally taken it in stride, but as you can tell from the first sentence it's beginning to get me down. I am looking for a job in Hawaii. Power's staying on though, thank goodness.

Just a little drifting snow flakes and right around freezing. I'm going to go out and attempt a run along the rivers in a few minutes, hoping that there is no ice on the trail.

Expecting about a foot in the next 24 hrs or so. No power outages yet though. Hawaii is too warm and soupy for my taste, but a winter trip to Arizona would be lovely right about now.

47 degrees and clear.

(Snow) Stormy here

I do not miss NE Ohio winters.

Sunny, 50's here. :)

It's just windy as fuck here. Allegedly, there's going to be flurries tonight. Somehow I don't think it's going to happen.

It's snowing. It's supposed to snow the rest of the afternoon and evening. The weather people are saying 1-3 inches but they are going to be so wrong if it keeps up at this rate.

I didn't realize it was supposed to snow today. I thought it was supposed to snow tomorrow. So when I got up I was like, "wtf?" (I'll admit that I just got up about 40 minutes ago so it's not like I was up early.)

It's also windy. I'm going to bundle up in a few minutes and take the dogs on a long walk so that they get at least one good long walk today.

Mild here, but cold weather blowing in from Siberia by the end of the week.

Sunny, calm and 27ºF (-2.8ºC) here. This beats a high of 15ºF and also windy as fuck yesterday. It was so windy they shut down I-70 from Evergreen to Vail Sunday night and all day yesterday, which effectively b0rked our ski trip plans to Copper. my BRAND NEW AWESOME skis remain untested, bah... so of course being unable to go ski yesterday, we instead embarked on a spate of retail therapy (the mister works 2 nights/week at REI strictly for the employee discount, and is consequently an even worse gear whore than I am). among other things I got this BRAND NEW AWESOME parka, which I desperately needed, at an ungodly discount.

oh well. Today I'm going to go ride my bike and log the miles on MeFi's Icycle Challenge.

Unrelated derail: My 2008 goal/inspiration/resolution is to win a bike race on my 40th birthday. I have 2 chances during that weekend (first weekend in August) both of which are races I've done well at in the past.

CitrusFreak you'd better get your arse out there and ride some this year or I'll come to RI and kick it for ya.

49 and grey here. It's supposed to snow a little tomorrow.

45F and gorgeously sunny, but very windy. We seem to be in a pattern where every other day is sunny, and the other days are overcast.

Back from my run. I didn't freeze to death or fall in any of the three rivers but it is windy as heck out there.

Turn to NBC.
That's my weather. (IE crap).
(and the overall mood of the city is hungover and annoyed, since the Sabres just lost.)

Cloudy, breezy, 6 Celsius. Supposed to rain tomorrow.

Sunny and 3 Celsius.

Overcast and 25°F. I'd like some more snow, but am happy that we have enough for sledding.

It's very fluffy out. i took pictures but i'm not up to loading them up yet. Supposedly, it will get worse.

25C here now with a high expected in the afternoon of about 30C. Will trade for snow or sleet.

Overcast, mid or upper 60s. Took the dog out this morning and saw that one of our rose bushes has a few new blooms. It's supposed to get back to being chilly (yes, yes: chilly for SoCal) in a few days though -- 50s and rainy during the day, 40s at night.

It's also been very windy lately, too, though it's died down in the past couple of days. Last week, a huge branch from one of the trees in our front yard fell off and smashed into our gate and fence, blocking the front way out of the house until the next day, when the Guys With Chainsaws came from the city to clean it up.

Another Mainer, but we're getting a mix of snow and rain. Just drove home from a friend's house; roads are sloppy. It's supposed to get colder, so the roads may get a lot worse when this freezes up. And it's only January. May is a long way off.

Rain this morning, then it cleared up and was sunny and nice, upper 40s. Tomorrow the temperature is expected to drop and the wind to pick up. I'd actually like a little snow. The past couple of winters have been quite disappointing.

The weather is fucking awful. Pissing down with rain, blowing a gale and just generally being miserable. All the beaches are closed (or eroded away), most of the New Year's Eve celebrations were canceled and generally our summer seems to have been stolen and replaced with a Melbourne autumn. Not fair.

Hahahaha, dg. I'll never forget the time some friends and I drove from Brisbane to the Falls' Festival. The first place we stopped in Victoria was a shopping centre in Werribee, to buy jumpers and coats as it was 35deg in Brisbane and on the way down, but it was bloody 0deg in Melbourne. The festival had to be moved to Torquay as Lorne was flooded, the stubby coolers sold out in three hours because everyone's beers were freezing to their hands and it took hours to put up the tents due to the gales. It was -2deg at midnight on NYE. In Australia. In mid-summer. Bloody Melbourne.

London is quite nice at the moment! Quite chilly (about 3deg) and windy but the sun is shining.
