Off the top of my head, I can think of two booksellers, four librarians and three people who work in publishing. There are almost certainly more, though.
That looks almost like the same stuffed bear that was in the living room set on the original Addams Family TV show (as a kid growing up in L.A. in the '60s, I went on a field trip to the studio where that show was produced, and it was even more awesome in color - but nobody from the cast was there, and the noose-shaped bell-ringers didn't do ANYTHING)...
I am not buying this book. Much as I love Colbert his non stop shilling of it has disgusted me. Actually his non stop general self promotion tends to disgust me. I love his writing and his delivery is positively inhuman, but my eyes start to glaze over when he starts talking about how yet another student group somewhere named a fungus after him or some news anchor I've never heard of wore his bracelet... yeesh...
Is that supposed to be part of his satire? Are conservative pundits all relentless merchandisers? If so, he's screwing it up. He's not offering the satire of a relentless merchandiser. He simply is one himself.
Well, it certainly is part of the satire (if you don't believe me, take a look at Bill O'Reilly's online store), but I agree that it's gotten way old. To be honest, I don't watch the show much anymore, simply because the blowhard persona has become too wearying. I prefer him in his sillier moments, which is why I love "Strangers With Candy" so darn much.
