A couple things. I picked up Tannhäuser the other day, mostly so I could listen to the incredible overture. Which I listened to this morning, followed by the fourth movement of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, followed by [More:]
three songs from Foreigner: "Double Vision," "Blue Morning, Blue Day," and "Hot Blooded."

It was like mainlining bombast. Now I'm listening to "Starrider," and I'm like, yo, that's a crazy damn song. These fuckers have a serious greatest hits collection.

What, they're taking bets on E.L. Doctorow but not on Cory? (I keed, I keed, I know Scalzi will get the Nobel before C.D. does - probably by 2021. Put your money down on that.)

When you mentioned Tannhauser, I though you meant this. I need to get out more.

Harry Mulisch will never be awarded a Nobel Prize. Murakami will win within the next fifteen years.

There, I said it.
