1. Counting down to the official Totally Empty Nest. My daughter and the esteemed Grandbun (also known respectively as Senor Crankypants and the Naked Mole Rat)are anxiously awaiting the arrival of my son-in-law on Friday, whereupon they will spend the weekend with The Bun's other grandmother then hightail it up to Norfolk to find their new digs.

2. Also on the exact same Friday, my son's sponsor mom and dad from USAFA will be coming for a visit. They will be spending the night with my folks but I still have to scrub my house down for company. Did I mention that I have a serial Cheerios distributor in my house till then?

3. I had pasta with homemade pesto for lunch (basil straight from my garden.) Everyone else in the family had somewhere else to be so it doesn't matter that I reek of garlic.

1) I am drinking a Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted.
2) My Other Half has downloaded a new game and it has an odd military meets three stooges-ish sound track.
3) I am playing Phantom Hourglass lately and it's pretty awesome - lots of good puzzle solving Zelda WTF DO I GO NOW I AM STUCCCKKKKKK moments and plenty of silly humour.

1. Mr. V and I spent $700.00 on a new dining table and chairs. The kids knocked the leg off the old one.
2. I'm thinking rain must be moving in due to pain in my shoulder.
3. I don't want to make dinner, I don't want to order dinner, I don't even want to think about dinner...and everyone else is hungry.

1. I'm trying to catch up with laundry today so I can pack for Bunnystock later this week.

2. Had lunch with mike9322 and his girlfriend yesterday, who were in town for a concert. It was a blast!

3. Have spent the afternoon playing with the cats while laundry runs, and listening to Zack Replica's awesome radio set.

1. Cooking brunch for myself after being stood up by friends. Hmph. I'll just eat buttermilk pancakes and bacon and herbed eggs and fresh-squeezed orange juice by myself!

2. Wishing I had a TiVo, even one that was low on things I wanted to watch. I'm watching a re-make of The Blob and it's AWFUL. I think at 2.00pm Hey What Do You Know will be on the radio, thank god.

1. There is a small blue sign on the bottom of a building a block away from my hotel with a white P on it and a small depiction of a dog. It is next to a hook, so I believe it means "dog parking here".
2. I am currently enjoying the thought of a dog valet service for restaurants. I think it would do well if the proper attention to detail was performed with the uniforms.
3. The dogs would be given meals of slightly better quality than the meals their persons would get, since life isn't fair and rich people should be able to understand that by now.

1. I've had a pretty good weekend and am feeling more optimistic about (a) myself and (b) my circumstances than I have in a while.

2. My computer shut down and restarted itself twice about half an hour ago, which is worrying. I re-started it in safe mode, ran misconfig and disabled everything but the essentials from startup, ran AVG and all seems well now. It's not a very powerful PC, I bought it from my sister and it's a low-end PC World HP Compaq model, so I was probably running it too hard.

3. I have a lot of work to clear off my desk before my holiday, so the next week and a half will be busy, but I can handle that when I know I have my holiday to look forward to.

1. I am wondering how long is acceptable between getting one tattoo and the next one.
2. My mom broke her foot Tuesday night and I have been playing nursemaid, getting about 2-3 hours of sleep the last 5 days.
3. Bonded with a cute boy today over tattoos and baseball today. I met Lance Berkman a couple of weeks ago and the kid was in AWE of that. Heh.

1. Sitting in PDX snarfing wifi for the first time in two days. Mmmmmdeliciousliquid wifi. About to head off to SLC and then LAX. Won't get home until 9.30+.

2. Feeling slightly nauseous.

3. Seeing a GI doctor tomorrow morning about the nauseous. Don't want to go, even though this has been going on for six months. More than slightly unhappy about the whole situation.

1 - The progeny and his friend are playing Halo upstairs, and making far too much noise.
2 - The progeny found a box turtle and brought it home. Made it a little nest/home until some more permanent digs can be sought.
3 - Roasting potatoes, steaming broccoli and grilling a big ol' steak for dinner.

1) Almost all the laundry is done, so we all have clothes this week!

2) I'm going to have to go to the doctor because the tendonitis in my hip is getting worse - mostly from doing the damn laundry

3) Older Boy is in the void (extreme order) and Younger Boy is in entropy (extreme chaos) and they're destroying the house.

In other words, Sunday at my house.

1. Just bought a 300 lb. weight set with barbell.

2. Attempted to bring said 300 lb. weight set home in a cheap laundry/grocery cart. Hey, it's only five blocks. Should be easy. Right?

3. My assumptions in (2) above were demonstrated to be a little optimistic. I didn't even make it out of the parking lot with that thing before the wheels caved in. I had the store call a car service and got home that way. Oh, well. If you don't make an ass of yourself at least once in a while, you're living your life too cautiously.

1. Making eggnog ice cream and some hors d'oeuvres for tonight's pre-thanksgiving dinner with uncle and mrs. uncle. Made gougères for the first time, and man oh man they're yummy. Trying to resist eating them all RIGHT NOW.

2. Also doing laundry, so napkins & table cloth will be clean for said dinner.

3. Uncle just dropped off bison roast for dinner, and it looks like it's going to take a lot longer to cook than I thought (2hrs/lb wtf?!?! That can't be right), but I can't start it for another 45 mins or so 'cause I have bread to go into the oven first. Good thing I'm making appetizers.

3. I've spent the majority of the weekend in an alcohol-fueled frenzy of dancing and laughing.

1) MuddDude washed some spots off the kitchen floor when I asked him too, but he didn't dry them, so I slipped and landed right on my knee.
2) Now, my bad ankle hurts a little.
3) His complete inability to plan anything is making me really anxious, so I'm trying to stay out of his way.

- spent a lot of time this weekend going out late with friends, then sleeping in late. Cycle repeats.

- coffee is very very useful to me.

- I'm a little sad because I'm spending (Canadian) Thanksgiving by myself this year.

1. Made two appointments at my job last week, and two more the week before, which is what my job entails.

2. Saw "Closer" the day before, and enjoyed it much more than I did the first time around, which was over a year or so ago.

3. Saw the psychiatrist on Friday, and she was happy to see the marked improvement in my mood, over the past month, and has advised me to continue the present dosage of medication for another month.

-Went to the corn maze and then went swimming. That's really weird. I want fall. Real fall. I don't want to visit the pumpkin patch in a tank top. I want to wear sweaters.

-I'm super self-conscious lately and I'm really hating it. I feel like I'm 15 again and that's not a good thing.

1. After a long and off-kilter week, the weekend was relaxing yet productive.
2. I stayed up till 4am finishing Good Omens. You know a book is going to be interesting when the Apocalypse starts and you're only halfway through.
3. Tomorrow will be full of physicals, Hot Doug's and invoicing. So an interesting combo of fun and not-so-fun to start the week.

1. I couldn't find my eccos last week, wore my Chucks--which fit when I bought them two years ago--which rubbed my heels raw. Wore my Doc Martens (bought several years before Chucks) the next day and could barely walk. Sores became infected and pouring peroxide on them doesn't help. Bought Mephistos, then found eccos several days later in spot where I KNEW I'd left them.

2. Cabinet work is finished (next up counters, painting and electric) but they didn't cut a hole for the dryer condensation pipe and left the excess lumber.

3.Am looking forward to seeing chrismear tomorrow.

1. Back at work, reminding people what their fucking logon name is. "Yeah, it's just your name. Your first name. Your given name. The one your mother and father gave you. Yeah, it's spelt B-O-B."

3. I'm getting ready to go to Yorkshire Wednesday to teach a bunch of people how to download a Word document because they can't follow the instructions (which say 'click the link and choose 'save''.

2. I have to finish an elevation I've been avoiding working on all weekend due to financial freakage, football games, naps and beer. And sometimes I just need a break.

jonmc & meeks - we watched 60 Mins on Bruce last night too - I thought of you both. He really is amazing and good for him on saying non-patriotic is NOT saying/doing anything.
