There was a Simpson's episode identical to this, except it was a crayon and Homer was an adult when he did it. Oh, and it made him a genius.

The only thing they didn't specify is that it went up her nose. It did, right? She just said it pierced through her skin, but they mentioned her nose and optic nerve...
