Caffeine quandary By 9 AM this morning, I had finished my double-size cup of coffee, and, oops! it was laced w/ caffeine, so[More:]what to do?

I always have decaf, so the mix-up is "impressive" to my system and I'm feeling the effects at 12:30ish. I've had lots of water to get rid of the jitters, but now am crashing. I'm thinking about a Mountain Dew. Is this wise? Mt Dew has about 55 mg. I estimate the coffee had 300 mg since it was double-size... Will I just be repeating the jitters, or will this help even out the crash? Ideas/thoughts appreciated. Course, we could conduct mouse-base experiment, but I'm not willing to wait for the published outcome...so, feeling kinda stupid for such a silly question.
Do the Dew.

Or a cup of tea.

I don't think you'll repeat the jitters, but I'm a caffeine addict.

If you do the Dew, do diet - the sugar will probably be a bigger rush than the caffeine if you aren't use to it. You may get a stomach ache by the end of the day, but you won't pass out on the way home.

Ah, sugar. Didn't think about that... I had a sweet treat to go with the coffee this morning, so doubly bad!!! (and I'm usually so good, really.) I'll have protein to go with a diet Dew...

Reporting back. Had the diet dew and protein lunch. It's now 3:30 and feeling much better! Thanks greatly for the suggestions. Hooray!

Hmm, as for passing out on the way home... it'll be heat/humidity all the way...it's currently 98F (37C) and heat index is 111F here. At least I'm not dealing with mass transit problems!
