What's in your refrigerator? It's really painful to hear this girl try to pronounce "Worcestershire". [More:]The replies are here.
I'm at work, so no youtube for me.

Nonetheless, I know precisely what the contents of my mostly-empty-for-various-banal-reasons fridge say about me. There is a half-empty gallon of skim milk, half a stick of butter, half a Vosges chocolate bar. Half a jar of capers, half a jar of bleu cheese stuffed olives, a bottle of sweet vermouth, a bottle of dry vermouth. Quarter of a block of Dubliner cheese, the dregs of a jar of jam from the farmer's market and left-over pad thai. Two bottles of champagne, one bottle of pinot gris and one bottle of riesling. There is also an opened can of wet cat food.

just got back from holiday, so: half a dozen small cans of tonic water, dregs of bottle of fino sherry, fruit juice, marmalade, butter, chilli sauce, half a dozen eggs, some wrinkled ginger that needs throwing out, half a 1kg tub of thai green curry paste from the big chinese supermarket in Birmingham, tahini, jar of jalapeno chillis. Stuff in cupboards is even less useful.

"Were-chester-saucer."

Wow.

Seems like a potentially interesting series of videos if done properly.

I was thinking of doing one.

I just got back from the supermarket so my fridge currently holds:

6 small cartons of cottage cheese
2 cartons Greek yoghurt
1 carton apple & mango juice (to pour over meusli)
1 bag spinach
1 bag mixed salad leaves
2 heads of romaine lettuce
1lb mushrooms
2 large courgettes (zucchini)
2 small cartons of raspberries
1 large carton of blueberries
1 pack feta cheese
1 box of cherry tomatoes
1 bag of bell peppers (mixed)
Some fine French beans (to eat raw in a salad)
Broccoli (to make occhiblu's broccoli arribiata)
2 chicken breasts
1 lemon pepper turkey fillet
Some carrots
1 mango which I'd forgotten about and is probably mush inside by now
1 jar of Ranch dressing (made from Hidden Valley sachets which I bring back from the US - the only ranch on sale here is Newman's Own)
1 bottle elderflower cordial
1 jar of minced ginger

In the tiny freezer compartment is:

2 lamb shanks (for kleftiko)
2 lamb steaks
2 chicken breasts
1 pack of stewing beef
1 pack sweet chili chicken fillets
2 trout fillets

I have only a small fridge and when I had my kitchen done I deliberately decided to do without a large freezer because I know I'd fill it with ice cream, pizza, oven chips, etc.

I try to cook from fresh as much as possible, and tend to shop twice a week - Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Oh, Jan... I really miss having a large fridge!

Ms just back from shopping so ours is jammed...

Oh man, do I need to keep vermouth in the fridge? If I've left it in the liquor cabinet for some months, do I need to throw it out and buy a new bottle?

Solip: I don't think it needs to be kept there, but the drink is supposed to be cold, so I keep it there.

My fridge is tiny, chuck, an under-the-counter thing. The size of the standard American fridge always amazes me.

Jan--I've been trying to find a 3/4 1/2 size fridge here in the US for my condo for a year and it's been an extremely frustrating experience. I live alone! My kitchen is tiny! It's stupid, wasteful and irritating to have a giant appliance sucking down all that electricity for a couple bottles of wine and a small hunk of cheese. I know they make them.

Let's see, the highlights:

An open bottle of White Zinfandel

Green Beans
Broccoli
Peanut Butter, Jelly
Frosting
Parmesan Cheese
A variety of salad dressings (Ranch, Caesar, Vinagrette)

Yep, try searching "mid-size" or "office-size" refrigerators.

Oh, and I have a fairly small fridge- it's only about 5 feet tall (freezer on top, fridge on bottom).

Pros of having a small, under-the-counter fridge:

Food in Britain doesn't last long... and tends to go off more quickly than we expect, so it's good to have a small space to fill (it avoids waste). We tend to buy and use fresh local food

Less power

Takes up no space

Easier to clean

Cons:

I don't like having to crouch down. If it were the same size, but higher up, I wouldn't bitch.

We cook for four people three times a day, seven days a week. We almost never do takeaways or go out to eat (because it's so overpriced). The fridge just makes life difficult.

TPS, you have lard and frosting? Shocking. :)

Our fridge is fairly stocked right now:

Top shelf: 1% milk, peach juice cocktail, mango juice cocktail, Total cereal, chocolate & regular Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles, one lonely can of schlitz, large strawberry Quick, pot of leftover "mom's elbows" (yum, lunch!)

Middle shelf: spicy pickled eggs, pickled sausage, bologna, deli sliced chicken, pepper jack cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded 4 cheese cheese (we had a coupon), country white bread, hamburger & hot dog rolls, ricotta cheese, organic eggs, box of sugar cubes, ready to eat bacon, jell-o

Bottom shelf: miscellaneous jars of pickled peppers, old tomato sauce, and various marinades, A1 sauce, strawberry jam, oreos, raisin bran

Bottom bin: bananas, head of broccoli rabe, garlic, red bell peppers, bag of small Yukon gold potatoes, bag of long grain rice

Door: butter, limburger cheese spread, chive cream cheese, kosher hot dogs, parmesean cheese, prechopped garlic, squeeze light mayo, hot sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, pancake mix, blueberry and maple syrup, mustard (dijon and sweet hot), horseradish sauce, ketchup, lime juice, lemon juice

Freezer: barbeque chicken hot pockets, breakfast sandwiches, white castle cheeseburgers, hot pocket calzones (4 meat & 4 cheese), london broil steak, chicken legs & thighs, pork loin, frozen peas, Ben & Jerry's, ice cube trays, coffee

Top of the fridge: oatmeal, hot chocolate, pasta, instant potatoes au gratin, canned tomatoes, canned collard greens, chicken gravy, pickled limes, Pimple Solution Tea (for kitch value), Cinnamon tea, peanut butter, baked beans, old pop tarts, wasabi peanuts, crab chips, honey bear

(We certainly won't starve here.)

I'm due for a trip to the store, but here's what's in my fridge (that's actually mine):
-raspberry jam
-horseradish
-grainy mustard
-butter
-mini jar of mayo
-half jar of spaghetti sauce
-my allergy shots (need to take those to the dr. already!)

freezer:
-handmade pork and dill dumplings from chinatown
-1 fake chicken burger
-spicy italian turkey sausage (2)

Seems sad, yes? Most of what I eat involves perishables, so when I'm at the bottom of the barrel, it doesn't all amount to much, does it?

Our fridge is too full to catalogue, so I'll hit the high points.

- 3 quarts of hummus a friend asked me to make for her wedding reception on Saturday.
- cucumbers, peppers, green beans, snow peas, zucchini, broccoli, carrots all awaiting the ritual of trimming, blanching, and shocking to turn them into bright gems of crudites to accompany the hummus.
- a vast tub of olives, also to accompany hummus.
- 2 big bowls of the NYT no-knead bread dough. Later, I'll be baking off, then slicing it, brushing it with oil, and crisping it in the oven to make croustades for dipping. Yes, into the hummus.

(Can you tell I'm all a-flutter about this wedding? Two old friends are marrying each other. Squeee!)

Other notable items:

- a jar packed full of lemon zest strips. Every bit of zest that I didn't need for the hummus, I saved for making lemonade. It's August, after all.
- One slice of birthday cake. The Fella has to work the night of my birthday, so he surprised me last night with cake and presents. Mmmm, cake.
- a jar of garnet-red onion-garlic marmalade. Oh, sweet buttery monkeys, is this stuff good! I made it this weekend, and I'm thinking everyone in my family will get a jar of it at Christmas.
- a tub of chevre from my cousin's cheesery.

Together between warmed slices of airy, crusty no-knead bread, those last two two make a ridiculously good sandwich.

I daydream about the day we'll have space for a separate freezer. I'll fill it with loaves of bread and tubs of soup and stew, lasagnes and casseroles stacked up like cords of wood in their aluminum pans, and jars and jars of stock.
