This is gorgeous. Thanks for posting it.

I got EMT certification a couple of years ago, but never really found a place / use for it in my life. I don't want to be a full-time paramedic, but this article helps remind me that there are other avenues.

My own great-uncle - the thoracic surgeon, not the neurologist - wrote something similar for the Stars and Stripes while he was director of a field hospital (predecessor of the MASH unit) in occupied Italy. He triaged without concern for a soldier's country or rank.

My mom has it kicking around somewhere; very inspirational article. Maybe she can dig it up for you.
