I'm looking for a job and an apartment. Again. Please reassure me that this will not happen every 3-6 months for the rest of my life.
It won't. It really won't.

For that reason, even as the inconvenience (and perhaps complicated emotions) of this are buffeting away at you, maybe it's a chance to relish the freshness that's coming.

Or you could just kick me hard for suggesting that. I won't blame you.

I sympathize... I'm job-hunting too. :(

I don't know if this is any help at all, but -- from the ages of around 16 to 37, I moved, on average, every 18 months, and changed jobs oftener than that. Now, at 54, I've lived in the same place for 17 years, and worked at (more or less) the same place for a decade. In other words, for even the most peripatetic among us, things have a good chance of eventually slowing down.

I know how exhausting the constant uproot-and-move-on can be, but (and again, dunno if this is any help) it'll give you a wealth of good stories and interesting memories down the road, when you are older and perhaps more settled. (My best stories come from the most catastrophically destabilized periods of my life, and I guess illustrate the whole "That which does not kill you makes you stronger" thing. Stronger, and maybe funnier.)

In my 20s, I lived in 9 different places and had 5 or 6 different jobs. (I can't be bothered to count right now, because I'm happier not thinking about most of them.)

I've now been living in the same house for 7 years.

It's all just a matter of finding your slot, Sass, and you will. And then you'll get mired in a rut and a routine and your body will go a little creaky and you'll start thinking about the Old You and then you'll long to have these days back.

So dont worry about it.
